Sister Joy Scott

As a Registered Nurse, Joy will be contributing to the health panel discussion on Trusting God with Your Health, speaking to the physical health aspect.

Joy Scott is a Registered Nurse with a background in psychology and decades of experience in critical care and rehabilitation case management. She began her nursing career as an ICU nurse before dedicating the majority of her professional life to case management at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital (formerly HealthSouth), where she supported patients and families through complex recovery journeys with clinical expertise and compassion.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Joy moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1973, where she later met her husband, Carlton. Together, they built their family before relocating to New Jersey and eventually settling in Florida in 2004.

Joy is an active member of Light of the World International Church, where she serves in the senior choir, evangelism ministry, discipleship and women’s small groups, and has previously taught adult Sunday School and participated in nursing home outreach.
She is a devoted wife, mother of three daughters, and proud grandmother of six. In her free time, she enjoys music, reading, the beach, and spending time with her family. Joy is committed to living a life of service, integrity, and faith.
